The Coaster 33 was designed by Alan Hill and is a well found cruising motor sailor ketch capable of cruising at home or further afield with accommodation for up to 6 in 3 cabins, separate heads and galley in main Saloon.
Seatracker was the Priors of Burnham- on-Crouch Show boat in 1982. Three owners from new, present owner has had her for last 11 years.
The present owner has updated the boat, with new Chart Plotter with AIS Transponder (2020), VHF AIS transceiver (2012), Autopilot (2013), and new instruments (2013).
The main cabin and galley have been updated with Force 10 3 burner oven , Microwave, New gas water heater and fridge, DAB CD Radio, and 22” TV DVD player.
In 2018, the main boom was replaced and slab new slab reefing installed together with lazy jacks/sail storage system and a new set of sails. The standing rigging was renewed in 2019, together with a new Plastimo roller reefing system for the Genoa. There is also a cruising chute.
The original engine was replaced in 2012 with a Nanni 43hd diesel engine and hydraulic gearbox which has now done just over 500 hrs.
The boat is also equipped with a comprehensive electrical system to provide adequate power for onboard electrical equipment over extended cruising. She is also fitted with a Diesel heater for cabin comfort.
GRP constructed motor sailer with heavy GRP layup. Traditional long keel with skeg mounted rudder. White gel kicoat topsides with planked hull covering boards port and starboard. Raised gunwhales and flared bow minimises spray when passage making . Stainless steel pulpit and bow roller with manual winch to weigh anchor through a bow hawse pipe. Side decks that go right around the boat provides safe and unhindered access for anchoring or attending sails.
All walkways and coachroof are slip resistant using Treadmaster flooring and there is a 1” stainless steel hand rail right around the gunwales for safety which makes the Coaster an ideal family boat.
Starting from the Canoe stern the boat has a stainless steel swimming platform which can also be used to mount a tender.
The stern cabin is entered from the wheelhouse and provides 2 single berths with lockers wardrobes and drawers with a small dressing table.
The Wheelhouse is constructed out of GRP and Teak with glazed windows and a canvas rear section giving complete protection again the weather but also ability to be open and use the wheelhouse roof as a sunshade in hot weather. The engine is under the wheelhouse floor with fuel tanks to port and starboard of the engine. The cockpit floor is cleverly designed to be self draining. The fuel tanks were shot blasted during the engine change and were epoxy coated. There is a almost new set of canvas panels that make up a new rear sprayhood to the wheelhouse. There is seating for 6 on cushions in the wheelhouse. Saloon table can be assembled in the wheelhouse to give more flexibility. The wheel is to port with all instruments, autopilot, chartplotter and Vetus bow thruster.
The saloon has a galley with U shaped working area with water heater, sink/drainer, microwave, 3 burner Force 10 cooker, perp area and cupboards and drawers for cutlery, pans, food, kitchen roll holder. Opposite the galley is the heads with, sink, sea toilet shower, and cupboard storage. To port is an L shaped seating area, and to starboard a settee that is also a single berth. In the forward area of the saloon a 22” DVD/TV is mounted on the bulkhead with DAB/CD radio nearby. The saloon has generous storage below berths and behind settees with a wardrobe also provided.
The forward cabin is spacious with 2 single berths, a wardrobe cupboards, dressing table and drawers. The anchor locker is forward of this cabin with anchor and chain.
Mechanical and Electrical
The Nanni 43hd is a derated 50hp engine based on a Kubota base with a TMC hydraulic gearbox. The engine has a 100 Amp alternator which is controlled by a Sterling Alternator controller with remote. The domestic bank has 3x110 Ah 12v batteries and starting and bow thruster is provided by a small specialist Red Flash high CCA starting battery. The controller gives priority to the starting battery and assures rapid charging of the domestic bank. The available battery bank capacity is monitored by an intelligent system. The domestic bank is is also charged by a 80w Solar Panel with MPPT controller.
240v shore power is provided through a consumer unit with galvanic isolator. A switch isolates shore power and a 240v supply can be provided by the 1500w Inverter from the domestic battery bank .
