Office Closed - The office will be closed tomorrow (Saturday).

Weather Forecast Ahead - With strong winds forecast, berthholders are requested to ensure their boats are secure with adequate fendering.

Berthing and Membership Invoices - Invoices are being processed and all should be completed and despatched to you by Saturday 14th December. Payment is due by Tuesday 14 January 2020. Any berthholders requesting a quarterly payment arrangement please contact Lyndsey if you have not already done so.

Charges for Electric - We have received notification from MOD that electric charges have been increased to 13p per kWh. These charges will be applied on return of your metered cables.

Thurs 12 Dec at 1830 Carols Around the Tree - Come along and join this festive event - please remember to notify the gate of any guests you may bring along. Following the carols enjoy some mince pies, sausage rolls and mulled wine.

Wed 18th Dec at 1200 Staff Drinks and XMas Draw - We hope you can come along and support the event. Following the XMas draw a buffet will be provided.

Sat 25th Jan at 1900 Burns Night - Our annual Burns Night on Sat 25 Jan starts at 1900 with welcome drinks followed by a 3 course Burns' dinner including haggis, neeps and tatties. There will be various addresses/speeches with drinks for toasts and a piper will entertain us through the evening. Dress is Black Tie / or Jacket and Tie. Cost is £25 per person. We are seeking a volunteer to address the ladies - names to me please. Book now!

Friday 31st Jan - Poetry Evening - Blow away winter blues with the 17th annual fun evening of poetry in the Fabrosa Room on Friday 31st Jan. Bring your favourite verses for reading by you or someone else (especially if you wrote them.) Supper available from 1830 for a start at 2000 and finish about 2130 (depending on the length of applause!!!!!) Please book through the office.

Friday 7th February at 1930 - Friday night talk by the actor Jason Salkey. Jason is most well-known for playing the educated rifleman "Harris" in the "Sharpe" series alongside Sean Bean. A hot counter supper will be available from 1830 before the start of the talk. The book is open.

2020 Training Programme - The dates of all 2020 training courses are now available on the Hornet website. Full details will be published later in the year. Charges for these courses are less than those charged by commercial organisations and feedback from those who have attended previously has been very positive.

New Members Seeking Opportunity to Crew - New Members, Craig and Caroline are looking to gain more experience before buying their own boat, if anyone requires crew to help them, then please get in touch. Happy to help out with all aspects and keen to learn. Both RYA comp crew trained by the ASA this year, and have been flotilla sailing in Greece since then.
Craig also has RYA First aid, RYA Sea Survival, RYA Diesel Engine, Day Skipper Theory, Short Range Radio licence and five years experience as lifeboat crew. If you need crew please contact us on 07918562986 or email cspence@britishlegion.org.uk

Christmas Ball Sat 14th Dec - The event is now fully booked with a reserve list in place.

Toilets in FB3 - Members are reminded that we have a toilet facility available in FB3 adjacent to the Sultan boat building.

Pontoons - The MOD pontoon replacements for Fieldhouse and Eagle pontoons should be with us soon. Please take care when using the pontoons they can be slippery when wet.

Wearing of Lifejackets - Recent incidents reported in the media and locally send a strong message to all those on the water to wear a lifejacket - a lifejacket will save your life!

Your Health and Safety is Important to us! - Please report any H&S breaches or recommended improvements and please follow the Club's H&S rules and guidance. If in doubt ask.

Reminder to Carry Membership ID - Please remember to carry your in-date Club ID cards at all times and to show to security staff on request.
