Portsmouth Sailing Club

100 years !

Portsmouth Sailing Club is marking its centenary with the launch of the Spithead Series, and the reinstatement of the dinghy and keelboat event, the Pompey Perisher.

Following investment in pontoons and a crane, which has stimulated the growth of its Squib keelboat fleet, the Old Portsmouth-based club has recently seen a growth in membership, particularly from younger sailors from the University of Portsmouth and 1st Portsmouth Sea Scouts.

The Club's Parhelion yacht racing series, which is held every spring and autumn, will be renamed the Spithead Series for 2020, with the introduction of a new format, and there will continue to be close affiliation with the traditional keelpoat Victory Class.
