VAT PAID STATUS FOR YACHTS

Petition: UK Registered and owned yachts and boats in EU should keep their VAT paid status – members might wish to consider signing the petition at the link below.

FB2 MAIN SITE

Activity on site is picking up and we have the additional challenge of main infrastructure work taking place around the JSASTC Engineers workshop (roof replacement). This coupled with boat lifts and boat movements is putting additional strain on parking and therefore please do not be offended if you are refused a 30min pass for unloading in FB2 when parking is at full capacity. The hardstanding adjacent to the slipway is a hazardous area at the best of times and we we all need to be observant when moving around this area.

SAFETY AND CONTACT WITH MARINA STAFF

During this busy time please be extra careful when moving around the roadways and keep clear of boat movements – please brief any visitors in your company. Please DO NOT attempt to talk to the Marina staff when they are undertaking boat lifts and boat movements – they do not need this distraction.

SAFE RETURN TO BOATING

As outlined in previous weekly updates we have launched our safety campaign for a safe return to boating.
Watch our marina safety video produced by Tim Heale and Steve Holliman, featuring the marina staff and Lyndsey with an introduction from the Club Commodore. Please follow the link to the video below.
It is 7 minutes long and gives good coverage of marina safety. On top of this, we have produced information leaflets available from the Clubhouse that provide lots of good hints and tips! If you would like a tour of the marina facilities including a safety briefing please contact the office to book.

TIM HEALE VIDEO AND PODCASTS

Tim has interviewed Hornet members covering some of their life experiences – these not to be missed interviews include: Richard Stokes, Peter Wykeham-Martin, Andy Phenna, Paul Taylor, Steve Little, Steve Holliman, Becky Walford, Stewart Velzian, Geoff Goodwin and recently added Tim Thorley. To listen and to watch go to the links below.

If you have an interesting story to tell please contact Tim via the office to arrange a conversation!
