Jubilee Sailing Trust

Funding crisis

The Jubilee Sailing Trust needs to raise £1.2 million by the end of September or it will face closure.

The charity, based in Southampton, offers tall ship sailing experiences to disabled people, and has lost £1.4 million in income since the start of the pandemic in 2020.

The charity's ship, Lord Nelson, is currently up for sale, and investigations are under way to explore the potential for a sale and leaseback deal of its other vessel, Tenacious.

Supporters of the charity have forgiven loans totalling nearly £500,000 and invoices have also been forgiven by some suppliers. it needs to raise £2.5 million each year to keep running.
