There is one copy for each Club member, free of charge. Order or collect yours from the Office. Hornet@60 Reflection We would like to capture what Hornet means to individual Members. To do this, we've placed a book in the restaurant area entitled Hornet@60 Reflections for Members to write their own stories of what Hornet means to them. HSSC Rally to Cowes Update from Steve Little HSSC had the entirety of the south visitors basin which was full of 18 Hornet yachts bringing with us 3 rally newcomers and then one of our now infamous pontoon party gatherings which some members kept going until late whilst others ventured for an evening meal in the Basque Kitchen tapas bar, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The sail over was 12-14knts and glorious sunshine which lasted for the duration of the day. Sunday saw some heavier than predicted conditions with winds on the nose up to 25 Knts. The rain which was forecast to have stopped by 0900 remained for most of the morning, and waves which neared 2m height in places throughout the Solent. Most participants returned safely to hornet and then had a brunch together on the Sunday in the clubhouse. The next rally will be 12/13 October and was supposed to be to Shepards Warf, so I am looking at an alternative , and if not we can return to Shepards. Anyone interested please let me know ASAP via email, text or via messenger. It was discovered that some members do not get all of the information when it is posted by only one means of communication, so moving forwards we will have a voluntary watsapp group for all rallies and then emails and the Facebook updates. If you have any suggestions for 2025 please let Steve know or come to our laying up supper and prize-giving on 22nd November. | ||
