Ladies and Gentlemen, The good weather is with us for the Bank Holiday and at least some of half-term. We are looking forward to tonight's Commodore's Dinner which starts at 1900 with welcome drinks and canapes outside - rig is blazers/jackets and ties for the gents and smart casual for the ladies. As a reminder the bar will be open on Bank Holiday Monday until 1700, so come on down. Also look out for the new menu coming in June; with some tasty new options joining our current favourites. The AGM Minutes are now in the Members area of the website. You will be aware the new workboat is now being used around and proving its worth. Thank you all for all suggestions for the name, I am pleased to report that, following on from the previous workboat, it is to be called Sting. Office Closure. The office will be closed on Monday 25th May and Friday 29th May, due to the bank holiday and annual leave. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. Change to weekend Bar/Galley opening hours. With effect from the weekend of 6/7 June the Bar/Galley will open on Saturdays at 0800hrs and on Sunday the Bar will remain open until 1700hrs. We will maintain these timings for this season to see if they are valued and review at the end of the summer. Club discount. Full members are entitled to 10% discount on bar/galley items. To avail yourself of this you need to show the staff your membership card with a 2026 sticker. If you still do not have a new card or sticker please come to the office. Import of foodstuffs from outside the UK. There are restrictions on food stuffs allowed to be imported into the UK. Details can be found at https://www.gov.uk/bringing-fo... . We have recently been visited by officials from the Animal and Plant Health Agency and reminded of the need to ensure all members follow the rules as laid down. We are in the process of getting a bin for foodstuffs that are not allowed to be imported at which point we will be authorised to collect and dispose of all banned items. If you are heading outside UK please make yourself aware of the rules. Free Pilatchi Session. This free session for members is taking place on 1st June, please see details below including how to book on. Club Night 29th May 2026 Next week's Club Night includes a Happy Hour, Quiz and Tapas Sharing Boards from John. These Sharing Boards will include Olives, Red Pepper Hummus, Charcuterie, Focaccia and Calamari, a kids' menu will also be available. If you don't fancy the Quiz, why not just pop in for Happy Hour and some food. Yarmouth Rally - 30th May 2026 Not long to go until our next rally to Yarmouth Harbour on Saturday 30th May 2026. Boats will receive a 10% reduction on usual Yarmouth fees. We are currently awaiting confirmation of a Rally Dinner reservation at the Royal Solent Yacht Club on Saturday evening. For those who wish to partake there will be a meandering timed passage (family friendly race) on the Saturday, which contributes to the Rally Race Series with prizes up for grabs (free YTC certificate required).
