Ladies & Gentlemen,

Unfortunately, the same weather that a lot of our members are experiencing whilst away sailing, has has finally caught up with the club.

Despite the weather, The Clubhouse is open throughout the weekend, and also on Sunday afternoon for those who have braved the Solent, and returned for a drink or two.

Enjoy the weekend,

Brian

Flare Disposal

Please dispose of flares in a responsible manner. Chandlers such as You Boat will dispose of your old flare when you purchase a new one. A polite reminder that under no circumstances are flares to be disposed of anywhere on the site.

FB3 Carparking

We have secured car parking on the concrete patch next to building 98 on FB3. You are welcome to park there. Display a permit and if you intend to be away long-term then please let the office know.

Clubhouse Renovations

We are looking at options for upgrading both the Male and Female Heads.

Do you have a particular skill, such as Tiling, Bathroom Fitting, Electrician, Plastering and Plumbing etc and would consider volunteering to get involved.

We have a broad and experienced membership base at HSSC and your assistance would be greatly appreciated to support your club.

If you would like to get involved on this much needed project, then please give me a call.

Restaurant Closed (Sandwiches Only Sunday 05/05/2024)

Due to staff leave only sandwiches will be available in the clubhouse this Sunday.

Metropolitan Police Visit

The Metropolitan Police have been with us for the last few weeks and have now returned to London.

It was a pleasure to host our new friends, The Metropolitan Police CTSFO teams and Marine Unit, as they trained other forces from around the country.

I am sure we will see them again next year.

Barry Tidy 50 Years at Hornet

It's Barry Tidy's 50th Anniversary of working at HSSC this year and to celebrate, Barry's wife and I are organising a surprise party at Hornet for him. All members are cordially invited to come along to celebrate, from 7pm on Friday 2nd August. Barry is probably known by all, and It would be great to mark this milestone with a great evening for him. This is meant to be a surprise, so try and not mention it to him!

If you would like to come along to celebrate, please email names to functions@hornetservicessailing.org.uk or contact the office.

If you would like to contribute towards a Gift for Barry then please contact the office.
