Pem of Rhu HUNTER HORIZON 26 ( 1985 T/k )

For Sale: Pem of Rhu (Reduced)

A ‘Boat Show Special’, deluxe spec, yard built by Hunters, delivered to Hornet Jan
1st 1987. One owner since then.

This hull was epoxied by Hunters when built. In 2001 Lauren Marine of Woolston
recommended stiffening the hull from waterline down, replacing existing
Coppercoat/epoxy with 6 layers of epoxy plus extra woven glass & scrim layers
within, (receipts available). Expensive, but time has proved the wisdom of it, making a
greatly strengthened underwater hull.

ENGINE: Inboard/outboard in port cockpit locker. A 2005 Tohatsu 9.8hp (2 str. an
engine of choice after years of fighting corrosion in the original 4 stroke) – There is
also an old but OK 2hp Mariner for the dinghy.

MAJOR MODS: All windows replaced (through bolted Makrolon) – ACMO Easyroll
Reefing (with, fully Battened main) – Original upholstery has been replaced (Comfort
Afloat) – Toilet replaced with a JABSCO model – Rewired electrics with a proper
switch panel.

OTHER BITS: Inflatable dingy, cruising chute/spinnaker, NASA echo sounder –
there is even a trailing log (works but rendered redundant by modern mobile
phones). Cockpit canopy & two sets of (named) side screens are included.
Now laid up in Hornet car park, The English climate will have made an overhaul of
running gear required, the mast is in a tabernacle, this greatly simplifies mast
maintenance.
