Ladies and Gentlemen, Club Night. Tonight for Club Night we are hosting Lewis Sharp, who will be giving a talk on Fort Gilkicker at 1930. This is preceded between 1800 and 1900 by a Happy Hour, where you can enjoy half price beer, half price house wine, 20% off other wines and half price standard gin and tonic. Car Passes. Members are reminded that all cars parked on site should be registered and must display a valid car pass. If you have not updated your car pass(es) with the 2026 sticker please come to the office and do so. Wedding 28th February. We are hosting a wedding here in the Clubhouse on Saturday 28th February. This will comprise of a Wedding Breakfast in the bar, a blessing in the Fabrosa Room leading into an evening party, also in the bar. As always members are welcome to use the facilities during this and the normal breakfast and evening menu will be available. However, at lunch time we will only be offering this reduced menu. Winter Berthing. All berth holder who have temporarily repositioned their boat over the winter, are reminded to return it to their allocated berth by the end of February please. The marina team plan to use many of these, nominally empty, berths for temporary berthing when launching boats so need them free. Port Chantereyne Partnership. Any member visiting Cherbourg can receive a 10% discount on berthing fees at Port Chantereyne on presentation of their membership card. More details below. Regards, Kieran | |

MOTHERS' DAY LUNCH - SUNDAY 15TH MARCH Celebrate Mothers' Day in style with a delicious Sunday Carvery at the Club. Bring the family together and enjoy a relaxed afternoon filled with great food, good company, and a lovely atmosphere to make the day feel truly special. John will be serving a classic carvery with all the trimmings, along with tempting desserts to round things off beautifully. It's the perfect way to show appreciation for all the wonderful mums in our lives. BOAT JUMBLE - SUNDAY 22ND MARCH 10:00 TO 14:00 Bookings are now open for tables at the Boat Jumble. This is a great opportunity to sell any unwanted sailing, boating or water sports clothing, accessories, spare parts and more — both old and new. There will be no charge for tables, and once we receive your booking (via functions@hornetservicessailing.org.uk), we will send full event details. If you plan to bring any large items, please let us know in advance so we can allocate space appropriately. Members with just one or two items to sell are welcome to place them on the club table on the day. A club merchandise table will also be available, offering a range of Hornet-branded items including burgees. 2026 membership stickers and new style membership cards will also be available. Everyone is welcome to come along and browse for those useful sailing bits needed for the new season. There will be bacon and sausage butties on offer, along with fresh coffee from our new machine. | |
