Good afternoon, I hope everyone has been able to enjoy some of the sunshine this week! We are all keeping our fingers crossed here for a win on Saturday night for the England football team! Please be aware we are not planning to stay open for the match, the bar will close at 2200 on Saturday as usual. We are though going to be open for the semi-finals on Wednesday 15th (scheduled for 2000 kick-off currently) and the football will be on in the bar for those who wish to watch it. The galley will not be open for orders but will be serving sausage and mash from 1900 for the Wednesday night racers. You are welcome to pre-order this too and pay for it on the night - at the discounted rate of £10pp. To book, please email functions@hornetservicessailing.org.uk by 1700 on Monday 13th July. We have some more HSSC branded beanies, baseball caps and men's polo shirts available outside the office now. If your size isn't available, we are happy to purchase on request. |
We are looking forward to a busy day in the Clubhouse and Marina on Saturday 18th July! Families Day - pirate themed Our popular event returns on the 18th July at 1300 so gather your crews for an afternoon of fun for all the family! - Water activities from 1400 including umbrella racing, blind folded sailing and tug of war (all participants need to wear their own buoyancy aids and there is a minimum age of 5 years to take part) - Land activities including nerf gun alley, wet sponge throwing and a piñata - Delicious BBQ served from 1700 (Adult £19.75, Child £10) - Live music from Jacuzzi Jazz from 1700 for all to enjoy! Event is free to attend but to book a place on the water activities and / or for the BBQ, please complete the below form by 1700 Monday 13th July. Saturday 18th July - Families Day and Big Buoys Challenge Fill in form Please note, the BBQ will be served in place of the usual evening galley service. Pre-booking highly advised. If you are planning on signing visitors in, please make the necessary arrangements for them to access the site on the day. To ensure safety of all participants, vehicular access to the clubhouse will be restricted from 12:00 as well water access in the marina from pontoon J to N. Big Buoys Challenge - 18th July The event is open to all yachts of all sizes and classes, and requires you to orienteer around areas of the Solent of your choice collecting buoys worth different points. Suitable for all members, whether families, cruisers or racers. Simply sign through the website : Racing : Hornet Services Sailing Club Crews are welcome to join in with the BBQ and music on their return to Hornet, the more the merrier, however please note the above requirement to pre-book the BBQ using the online form. |
