Battle of Britain Dinner - Saturday 19th September - 7pm Join us for our annual Battle of Britain Dinner, an evening of remembrance and camaraderie as we honour the courage and sacrifice of those who defended Britain during the summer and autumn of 1940. The evening will feature a traditional dinner followed by a fascinating guest talk from Mike Bennett. Mikes talk will be based on a flight of Hurricanes from 249 Squadron, based at Boscombe Down. Next Week Next week there is holiday in the galley from Wednesday 19th-Sunday 23rd August, cover has been arranged so there should be minimal disruption to galley service but please allow for slightly longer wait times during busy spells. Please note, the office will not be manned this coming Monday 17th August whilst I am on leave. Building 98 The contractors are still due to arrive from 17th August for the Building 98 works. The demolition works are now set to begin from 24th August and disruption to the utilities will begin that week. VIVO have advised that the electrical isolation is planned for 26 August 2026. A water isolation has been requested for the same date and is currently awaiting final confirmation. I will update you as soon as I have any further information on the disruption to the utilities expected. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. | ||
Bicycles A polite reminder that as a military site and in line with site security, Club members arriving by bicycle are to ensure they are parked within the cycle rack located at the main gate. Any bicycle deemed to be abandoned is at risk of being removed. I would also ask that communications between members and JSASTC staff remain courteous and in line with the Club's Code of Conduct. | ||
D-block Windows The replacement windows for the D-block lay apart stores have been ordered and will be fitted throughout October. We will put together a plan and I will circulate this in advance of the works but please keep in mind that access will be required to the stores in there at certain times during the fitting. | ||
