Updates & Reminders - This Saturday, 3rd October. We have our Ladies Lunch event on from 1230 - the galley will remain open for orders but please be aware there could be a longer than usual wait time. In addition to this, there will be food served for a private function between approximately 1845 and 2000. Food orders can be placed before 1830 or after 2000. - As you will have seen earlier this week, full refurbishment to the heads will begin on Monday 5th October. The ladies and gents are initially planned to be out of action for up to 8 weeks. Full details are in the email sent on 29th September. Please accept our apologies in advance for any inconvenience caused. - Some of you may already have seen that the fuel pontoon at Gosport Marina is due to be closed to all vessels from Monday 19th October for approximately 6 weeks. - If you have a berth on the midstream pontoon, you are also able to top up your RNSA electricity card in the club office. Kirstin is generally able to process this Tues-Fri 0830-1630. | |||

October Club Night - Friday 30th October Two Ports One Pilot By Captain Bill Hargreaves MN After 15 years at sea, including 3 years as master, Bill came ashore. He became a nautical surveyor and examiner, before becoming an Authorised Pilot for the port of Southampton, specialising in the largest containerships and tankers using the port. Not only this, he also lectured at Solent University, becoming a marine consultant and expert witness. Following retirement, he then trained and became an Authorised Pilot for Portsmouth. Today, he continues to be a pilot, lecturer and expert witness, on a part-time basis. Bill will talk about the training and legal status of pilots and pilotage for both the ports of Portsmouth and Southampton through waters familiar to our members. Food from 1800. Talk starts at 1930. Marina Electricity cables are now available to collect from the Marina Office. The Marina team are busy booking in the requests for winter lifts. If you are still to book yours in, you can book by completing the form below. You can also find this through the members portal on the website, or there are hard copies outside of the Club office.
