Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is good to see more and more members as the days get longer and the weather improves.  If you still have an old membership card or the 2025 sticker, please come to the office and update.  Just as a long term notice, please mark in the diary the AGM which is on 17th April.  Apart from that I am briefly highlighting a few of the events being held in the near future, with more details further down.  Please come and join us if you are able.

Mothers' Day Lunch - 15th March.  Just a quick reminder to book quickly for another fabulous carvery on Mothers' Day (15th March).

Boat Jumble - 22nd March.  The next Boat Jumble is being held on 22nd March.  Tables are still available at no charge for members wishing to sell on unwanted sailing items.

Club Night and Talk - 27th March.  Following our packed out talk on Fort Gilkicker last week, at which we had over 80 members, we will on 27th March be welcoming Sally Tyrell who will be talking about the Mary Rose.  This will be preceded between 1800 and 1900 with a Happy Hour when we will, for this month, offer 50% off ALL drinks.

Car Passes.  Members are reminded that all cars parked on site should be registered and must display a valid car pass.  If you have not updated your car pass(es) with the 2026 sticker please come to the office and do so.

Regards, Kieran

MOTHERS' DAY LUNCH - SUNDAY 15TH MARCH

Celebrate Mothers' Day in style with a delicious Sunday Carvery at the Club. Bring the family together and enjoy a relaxed afternoon filled with great food, good company, and a lovely atmosphere to make the day feel truly special.

John will be serving a classic carvery with all the trimmings, along with tempting desserts to round things off beautifully. It's the perfect way to show appreciation for all the wonderful mums in our lives.

We still have some spaces available, so don't delay and get your table booked to make this Mothers' Day one to remember.

BOAT JUMBLE - SUNDAY 22ND MARCH 10:00 TO 14:00

Bookings are now open for tables at the Boat Jumble. This is a great opportunity to sell any unwanted sailing, boating or water sports clothing, accessories, spare parts and more — both old and new.

There will be no charge for tables, and once we receive your booking (via functions@hornetservicessailing.org.uk), we will send full event details. If you plan to bring any large items, please let us know in advance so we can allocate space appropriately. Members with just one or two items to sell are welcome to place them on the club table on the day.

A club merchandise table will also be available, offering a range of Hornet-branded items including burgees. 2026 membership stickers and new style membership cards will also be available.

Everyone is welcome to come along and browse for those useful sailing bits needed for the new season. There will be bacon and sausage butties on offer, along with fresh coffee from our new machine.

Please join us for, what I am sure will be an interesting talk.  This Happy Hour there will be a 50% of ALL drinks between 1800 and 1900.   In order to ensure everyone get served food in time for the talk, the normal menu will be suspended for the night.  The options for the evening will be fish and chips or a pasta dish (bolognaise/vegetarian carbonara).  Please submit your choice to functions@hornetservicessailing.org.uk by 0900 on 26th March.
