The relevant contractors are aware and in the process of resolving Members' Update. Join us on 20th February where the Committee will be sharing how we are continuing to move the club forward. This session will provide an in depth insight and context ahead of the AGM on 17 April, and it's a great opportunity to stay informed and engaged with the club's direction. We will be sending out some information about the main topics being discussed as a separate mailing next week but in the meantime if you are planning to attend could you please email functions@hornetservicessailing.org.uk. If you would like to have food afterwards, from the main menu, it would help if you could let us know along with menu choices to help speed service; this is in no way essential, members can clearly decide later, or even on the night. Closure of Haslar Road. We have received notification that work is going to be undertaken on Haslar Road, from Clayhall Road to South Street ie its entire length, from 16th Feb for 6 days, although on the website it says until 27th Feb. During this time the road is going to be 'closed to through traffic any (sic) time between from 0930-1600 on each of the days'. The notification also says 'access for residents and businesses will only be maintained if safe to do so. We are trying to find out if this will be phased or whether there will be complete closure for the entire period; we will inform you when we have clarity but please bear in mind during the period access may be problematic. New contact phone numbers. You are aware of the mobile phone numbers to contact the General Manager and Marina Team. For the GM please use the landline number, 02392580403 option 3, during normal office hours but the mobile for out of hours contact or if you have been unable to get through via landline.
Work to Clubhouse and surrounds. The work to secure the Clubhouse has started so please keep clear of the areas where they are working. The work is due to be finished by 20th Feb. Club Wi-Fi. We have now migrated the club Wi-Fi onto 5G and have managed a significant increase of bandwith available. Passwords etc remain the same but hopefully you will notice and appreciate the improvement. Regards, Kieran, Interim General Manager |
