Coastal Forces Heritage Trust. HSSC has a deep connection to the Coastal Forces story. The Navy ran small fast craft out of here from 1915 until the late 1950s and its a terrific story of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. The Coastal Forces' Memorial is here and the annual Remembrance Service is a highlight of the Hornet calendar. The Coastal Forces' Heritage Trust is building a landmark monument to Coastal Forces and the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve which will be located at Victory Gate over in the Historic Dockyard. A million people a year will see it and, hopefully, be inspired. To help raise funds, the Trust is running an online Crowdfunding Event over the weekend of 8-11 May. Please support the Appeal and if you would like to get involved, get in touch with fundraising@coastal-forces.org.uk or speak with Richard Farrington. | ||
