Ladies and Gentlemen,

As you may be aware the new General Manager, Jess Bone, is joining us on Monday so this is my final Dit. I would like to say thank you to all the members who have come in to say hello and were patient with me learning the ropes.  Also the Committee who have supported me and answered the stupid questions I have asked.  Finally, the biggest vote of thanks to Kirstin, Jack and John who have been amazing, taking on new tasks and ensuring the Club ran smoothly.  As a member as well I am so pleased we have these 3 in position as they are so good, even when under a good deal of pressure, and deliver a huge amount to the Club.  Anyway, the sun is now here it seems for a short time at least so I will be able to enjoy it, as opposed to looking out from my window across the marina wishing I was out there.

The Portsmouth Regatta is happening this weekend.  We are expecting Friday night to be quite busy so, whilst the bar and galley will operate as normal, to guarantee availability and a timely service anyone who wants to eat, is advised to pre-order.  On Saturday and Sunday the bar and galley will open at 0800 for breakfasts including take away breakfast baps, but due to staff sickness will now be closed for lunch service on both days.  As we will be hosting a dinner the Galley will not be open on Saturday evening although members are welcome to use the bar.  We apologise for any inconvenience that this causes.

Marina Plant.  After our latest insurance inspection on both the Wise 14t slipway hoist and the Roodberg 20t boatmover, we needed to undertake significant refurbishment projects on both machines. These works were considered essential, not only to meet our our insurance obligations but are also to ensure the continued safe and efficient boatyard operation.  As you will appreciate during these works the boatyard has been operating at a reduced capacity and will continue so to do.  We will keep members informed as the situation develops.

JSASTC Showers.  As a reminder the JSASTC showers are for use by JS staff and students only.

Electricity FB3.  The invoices for electricity are being generated.  If you are still using the cable on FB3 please let us have the meter reading, if you still have the cable but no longer using it please return it to the Marina Office

Change to weekend Bar and Galley opening hours. The Bar and Galley will open on Saturdays at 0800 and on Sundays the Bar will remain open until 1700. We will maintain these timings for this season to see if they are valued and review at the end of the summer. Additionally, due to staff holiday the galley will not be opening for dinner service on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th July, the bar will however remain open as usual. Again, we apologise for any inconvenience that this causes.

Regards

Kieran
