HSSC 2026 Rallies The planned rally to Cowes this weekend has unfortunately been cancelled owing to insufficient numbers of sign ups being received in time to secure the booking. Apologies for any inconvenience. The Yarmouth Rally (30 May to 31 May) now has 6 boats registered and will be going ahead, see details below. Three boats are now registered for the cruiser race running concurrently. Please sign up in good time for future rallies to allow us to secure the berths, via the QR codes on the club notice board in the foyer, the sailing pages of the club website or by directly contacting Sailing@hornetservicessailing.org.uk. Full details on this year's racing and rally programme are on the sailing pages of our website and the calendar is available below; Code of Conduct We ask all members to please re-familiarise themselves with our current code of conduct which was updated and sent out back in September 2025. Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Yacht Club - Eclipse Cruise Hornet members have been invited to join the RNVRYC adventurous rally to Spain, taking place in July and August 2026, timed to coincide with a total eclipse of the sun. Marina Working Hours and Boatyard Booking Process Update As part of our ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency and enhance the service provided to our members, we are implementing an updated working schedule and booking procedure for boatyard operations. Standard Working Hours: From 1 June 2026, boatyard operations will run Monday to Friday as standard. In addition, Saturdays with good tides will be available, to be used only when required (for berth-holders and working full time members). If no eligible Saturday bookings are scheduled, the Marina Team will operate on the normal Monday-Friday schedule. Updated Booking Process: To streamline the scheduling process and maximise operational capacity, the Marina Services form has been enhanced to include a new section in which members can provide:
Using this information, the Marina Team will be able to plan and allocate boatyard operations efficiently. If members clearly indicate the dates they cannot attend, it will be assumed that all other dates within their selected week are acceptable (tide allowing). The ring-fenced Saturdays will be highlighted on the Weekly Dit and Lift/Launch Schedule online. Booking confirmation will continue to be emailed from the Marina Team. The new form is linked below. NAB Tower Dash - 23 May 26 Registration is now open for the NAB Tower Dash. Entries will require a free YTC certificate. Yarmouth Rally - 30 May 26 Our next rally will be to Yarmouth Harbour on Saturday 30 May 26. We currently have 6 boats registered so it will be going ahead. Boats will receive a 10% reduction on usual Yarmouth fees. We are currently awaiting confirmation of a Rally Dinner reservation at the Royal Solent Yacht Club on Saturday evening. For those who wish to partake there will be a meandering timed passage (family friendly race) on the Saturday, which contributes to the Rally Race Series with prizes up for grabs (free YTC certificate required). There is also an evening club night at HSSC on Friday 29 May.
