RYA ON-WATER SEA SURVIVAL EXERCISE OSBORNE BAY TUESDAY 8 SEPTEMBER 2026 - KHM Portsmouth LNTM No. 95/26

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Kings Harbour Master Portsmouth, that a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) On-Water Sea Survival Exercise will take place in Osborne Bay on the afternoon of Tuesday 8 September 2026.
2. The exercise will commence at 1300 and be complete by approximately 1730.
3. The first phase of the exercise commencing at 1330 will involve the use of white hand and parachute flares, followed by the deployment of two inflatable liferafts, both of which will be anchored in position.
4. At 1530, a HM Coastguard helicopter will recover personnel from the liferafts, after which the rafts will be deflated and recovered to the supporting craft.
5. Support craft will consist of two motor launches, BLUE SWAN, BLACK SWAN and two RHIBs.
6. Support craft will maintain a listening watch on VHF 11/12, 16 and 72 at all times during the exercise.
7. Mariners are requested to keep clear of the area while liferafts are deployed and recovered and during helicopter operations.
