Commemorative Gun Salute 17 March 2026 - KHM Portsmouth LNTM No. 44/26

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King's Harbour Master (KHM) Portsmouth that to commemorate the late Admiral of the Fleet Sir Benjamin Bathurst HM Naval Base Portsmouth will conduct a 19 Gun Salute from the southern point of South Railway Jetty at 1100 on Tuesday 17 March 2026.

2. To ensure safety during the firing, as allowed in the provisions of the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth Order 2005, an exclusion zone for all marine traffic will be imposed as shown in the diagram on line. Large traffic to/from the Naval Base or Portsmouth International Port will be held or have its speed adjusted to ensure the exclusion zone is clear. Ministry of Defence Police launches will ensure small craft keep out of the exclusion zone. 

3. Mariners are advised to remain clear of this exclusion zone. A sécurité broadcast will be made by Portsmouth VTS enacting the exclusion zone at 1050. A further broadcast will be made to disestablish the exclusion zone immediately on completion of the event. 

4. Cancel this Local Notice to Mariners 17 March 2025.
