Ladies and Gentlemen,

I hope you are all enjoying the good weather.  It is getting busier which is good and hopefully we are keeping you fully up to date with all things going on.  There are a number of Club WhatsApp groups in operation covering all areas of the Club and can be found at  https://chat.whatsapp.com/JE90HHHD5FcB9QsyqK39mZ.  You can join whichever groups are relevant.

We are fortunate in that we have a number of volunteers helping out in various areas of the Club.  You will, I hope, notice the beds around the Clubhouse which are kept in amazing condition by Rowena Heale for which we are extremely grateful.  However, she could do with some help so if anyone is willing to lend us their 'green fingers'  please get in touch.

You will be aware of the Coastal Forces Monument Appeal. To raise funds the Coastal Forces Heritage Trust are running a major Crowdfunding event over the weekend 8 - 11 May full details will follow, but there are a couple of free events running on Saturday 9th May:

· At the Explosion Museum up at Priddys Hard you can get free admission to the Night Hunters Exhibition to attend a lecture by Rear Admiral Rex Cox CB at 11:30 on the story of Coastal Forces.

· Over in the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, there is also free admission to Boathouse No4 and the Pontoon Open Weekend all day. Here you can get up close to the British Military Powerboat Collection, ride in the iconic MGB 81 and HSL 102, and attend a lecture by the worlds leading experts on the origins of fast attack craft Martin Kelly and David Griffiths. Their talk starts at 14:30.

Reminder of our upcoming May events;

  • 4th May Bank Holiday: The clubhouse bar will be open until 17:00, we hope you are able to pop in during the day!
  • 7th May Coffee Morning: Join us from 10:00 for delicious cake and a drink.
  • 16th May Eurovision Evening: The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 final will be shown live in the bar.
  • 22nd May Commodores Dinner: There's still time to book on, please complete the online form (linked below) to secure your space(s) and food choice.
  • 29th May Club Night: Join us for Happy Hour between 18:00 and 19:00 and enjoy some Tapas.
