Ladies & Gentlemen, Please note Brian is now on annual leave until Monday 15 September, but we still have plenty going on over the next few weeks. Following Stewarts retirement, our new Boat Operations Lifting Manager Jack Ward-Golden started this week, so please say hello when you see him around. The Battle of Britain dinner is taking place on Saturday 13 September and it's not too late to secure your space, please let us know by Monday 8 September if you would like to come along. If you are still looking to secure your winter lift, please return completed forms directly to the Marina office or via email to marinamanager@hornetservicessailing.org.uk Don't forget the Haslar Bridge Closure to cars starts on Mon 8 September, which will cause some inconvenience in accessing the club. HSSC Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting Election of Club Commodore 19 Sept 2025 The Club will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Friday 19 September, at 6.30pm in the Clubhouse. The purpose of the EGM is to allow Full Members to elect Mike Shrives as Commodore, in succession to Richard Stokes, handing over at the Clubs Trafalgar Night Dinner on 24 October. Mikes Biography is here: Mike Shrives - Biography The formal EGM Calling Notice & Agenda is here: Notice of 2025 Extraordinary General Meeting Voting is open to all Full Members of the Club, including berth-holders, veteran and honorary life members. The Committee recognises that not all Full Members will either want, or be able, to attend the EGM and there is therefore an opportunity to vote by proxy, electronically, at this link: https://forms.office.com/e/GRyi5CGtjV . It should take no more than a couple of minutes to complete. Alternatively a paper proxy form can be completed and returned by hand, post or email to the Club Office. Proxy votes must be submitted by 4.30pm on Tuesday 16 September. The bar and restaurant will be open after the EGM for normal service. | |||

HSSC Rally 20-21 September to Cowes Shepherds Warf This has been a popular destination in the past. Were supposed to be getting some decent weather after all the current rain so fingers crossed for decent conditions. Sadly I cant go due to work. Sophie may be able to take Cherie but yet to be confirmed. If anyone is interested then please let me know ASAP. There are currently only 3 boats that have confirmed. Ill be looking for a volunteer to lead the rally if Sophie cant make it. So if anyone can be the lead then please let me know.
