Uncrewed Surface Vessel Trials 28 May - 5 September 2025 - JHM Portsmouth LNTM No. 61/25

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Kings Harbour Master Portsmouth that Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) trials will be conducted within the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth over the period 28 May 5 September 2025.
2. The USV will be trialled in Osbourne Bay, Stokes Bay and an area south of Roway Wreck.
3. The designated trials period is 0900 1600 and includes the USV operating in remote/autonomous mode within the trials area. Only one USV will be trailed at any given time. The USV will be towed on transit between The Old Camber, Portsmouth and the trials location.
4. The USV MARS is a grey monohulled vessel (LOA 4.5m). The USV will be supported by a catamaran VALKYRIE 6 and/or a RIB HI LIFE that will act as the safety and support vessels during the period of the trials. The safety vessels will attend all times of the trials period.
5. The safety vessel will be listening on VHF Ch 11, 12 and 16.
6. All trials vessels will conform to the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs) and Portsmouth Harbour Regulations, including speed limits at all times.
